We will do our best to accommodate any dietary restrictions, food sensitivities and allergies. We ask that you let us know at the time of booking or as soon as possible. There is no guarantee we can accommodate a request if notice is not given.
Who teaches classes at The Local Epicurean?
Our instructors are all highly-trained and passionate chefs, cooks and food fanatics. We take pride in our team and their ability to create memorable culinary experiences for our guests.
Are drinks available to pair with the menu we choose?
Yes! You can choose a menu when you book your class, but the drink pairings are up to you. Choose from beer, wine, cocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages to pair with your meal.

How do I book a class?
To book a class, call our shop at 517.619.0588. We will help you select a date, time and menu that works for you. If you get our answering machine, please leave us a message – we will call you back!
When should I book my class?
We are often booked weeks or months into the future, so plan accordingly. We recommend booking your class at least 6 weeks in advance. To inquire about availability or to book a class, call our shop at 517.619.0588.
Is parking available?
Yes. We have a large parking lot available at our location with plenty of spaces. We also encourage the user of Uber or Lift if you are planning on enjoying a drink with your meal.
How early should I arrive for my class?
Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled class time. Of course, you can arrive much earlier and browse our unique market of hand-selected pastas, wines, cheeses and a lot more… or perhaps sit down an enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail at our bar!
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, in fact you can purchase them here! We sell class gift certificates ($99) for our three-course menu cooking classes and market gift certificates to shop our food market. Market gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and can also be used toward cooking classes. All gift certificate sales are final.
How do I redeem a gift certificate?
To redeem your gift certificate and book a reservation, call 517.619.0588. Reservations cannot be made without your gift certificate number.
I lost my gift certificate. What do I do?
We record gift certificates by date sold and gift certificate number. If you have misplaced your gift certificate, please have the following information available when requesting a replacement or making a reservation: date of purchase, amount paid and first name of purchaser.
What can I buy with my gift certificate?
Cooking class gift certificates can be used only to book classes; they are not valid for store merchandise, lounge or café purchases. The price paid for market gift certificates never expire and may be used toward the cost of a cooking class or for any merchandise or wine purchase in our shop.
